The primary goal of the National Pediatric and Neonatal Deceased Donation and Transplantation Strategy is to optimize pediatric and neonatal deceased organ donation and transplantation in Canada. This undertaking will require a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to data collection, consensus development and execution. This multi-year initiative will involve key stakeholders from the donation and transplantation community, organ donation organizations (ODO), and donor families and patient partners. The first project of this initiative will be to conduct a survey to confirm the current state of practice of pediatric and neonatal donation and transplantation. The second project of this initiative is a five-year retrospective pediatric potential donor audit of all PICUs and a select few NICUs across Canada.
