    This one day symposium will review the challenges blood-borne pathogens present to the field of transfusion medicine. Physicians, technologists, nurses, and researchers involved in transfusion medicine will enhance their knowledge of blood-borne pathogens and gain an understanding of the approaches used to ensure the safety of the blood supply.

    This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity 6.0 Section 1 Credits as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, approved by the University of Toronto.

    About the Canadian Blood Services Annual International Symposium Series

    The Canadian Blood Services annual international symposium series is a knowledge mobilization event targeted at the transfusion medicine, cellular therapy and/or transplantation communities in Canada. The purpose of the symposium is:

    • To educate professionals in one (or more) of these fields by providing research AND clinical perspectives around one major topic of relevance,
    • To showcase the research activities of Canadian Blood Services in these areas,
    • To nurture national and international networking.
