LearnTransfusion series

 The LearnTransfusion series is the seminar component of the Areas of Focused Competency (AFC)-Diploma Program in Transfusion Medicine. The series is also open to all practitioners in the field of Transfusion Medicine. Through a regular webinar series, trainees and practitioners are exposed to various scientific, technical and clinical aspects of transfusion medicine. The LearnTransfusion webinar series is offered in English only.

Attending LearnTransfusion

The LearnTransfusion series is delivered via weekly webinars organized by Canadian Blood Services. The series offers “Topic Teaching”, “Scientific Sessions”, and “Journal Club Reports”. Webinars usually take place on Tuesday mornings at 12 noon ET and are posted during the academic year (from September to June).

Accredited presentation series

The LearnTransfusion series presentations are self-approved group learning activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. A certificate of attendance is provided to attendees who attend the live seminars and complete the presentation surveys.

 

 


 

LearnTransfusion series recordings

Video recordings of presentations from the LearnTransfusion series are posted here following the live event if the speaker has consented to publication. Recordings are in English only and are available until the end of the academic year. A certificate of attendance for Continuing Medical Education purposes will be provided to individuals who attend the live presentation; it will not be provided for viewing a recorded presentation.
