Plasma: Transfuse it, Fractionate it or Forget it?
Aspects of plasma transfusion will be reviewed by International and national experts to provide Canadian physicians, technologists, nurses and researchers involved in transfusion medicine with an update on current knowledge in this complex and sometime controversial field.

If you wish to attend the Symposium, please contact centreforinnovation@blood.ca to be added to a waiting list. Spots becoming available through cancellations will be provided on a first come, first served basis. There will be no on-site registration available.

Registration includes a light continental breakfast, a lunch and snacks (If you have specific dietary restrictions, other than vegetarian, please contact centreforinnovation@blood.ca before September 2).
Registration excludes parking fee.
It is important that you please register as a student if you are for example a resident or a graduate student.
$85.00 for early pre-registration before Aug 29, 2014 ($40.00 cancellation fee applies if cancelled before Aug 29, no refunds provided for registration made on Aug 29 and after)
$100.00 for pre-registration between Aug 29 – Sept 12 (noon), 2014 (non-refundable)
$115.00 for on-site registration. Please note that on-site registration will be limited to space availability.

About the Canadian Blood Services Annual International Symposium Series

The Canadian Blood Services annual international symposium series is a knowledge mobilization initiative targeted at the transfusion medicine, cellular therapy and/or transplantation communities in Canada. The purpose of the symposium is:

  • To educate professionals in one (or more) of these fields by providing research AND clinical perspectives around one major topic of relevance,
  • To showcase the research activities of Canadian Blood Services in these areas,
  • To nurture national and international networking.
