Presenter:

Hanneke Schuitemaker

and the Disease Area Stronghold Leader for Viral Vaccines in Janssen Vaccines and Prevention
Professor in Virology, Amsterdam University Medical Center

Objective:

On January 12, 2020, the publication of the genetic code of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, triggers Janssen Vaccines to start the development of a prophylactic COVID-19 vaccine. The seminar will capture Janssen’s vaccine design, preclinical evaluation, production of clinical trial material for phase 1 studies and in parallel the ‘at-risk’ ramp-up of large scale manufacturing at unprecedented speed without cutting on safety. In addition, an overview of the field will be provided.
