Event details

This annual 1-day symposium, in honour of Dr. Earl W. Davie, features presentations by leading experts in vascular biology, hemostasis-thrombosis, and cardiovascular and neurologic disease.

Dr. Earl W. Davie’s scientific contributions in hemostasis-thrombosis have impacted the care of patients world-wide. He and his colleagues devised the revolutionary Waterfall Sequence for Blood Clotting, and subsequently, throughout the 1960s and ’70s, applied cutting edge technologies to identify and characterize most of the coagulation proteins and their genes. For his many remarkable achievements, Dr. Davie, a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Washington in Seattle, was widely acclaimed, receiving numerous awards, including investiture as a member of the US National Academy of Science. He was a wonderful teacher and mentor, and he left a legacy that will be felt for many generations.
