Objectives:

1.  Describe the available literature on red cell transfusion thresholds in the outpatient setting.
2.  Determine informative outcome measures in chronically transfused patient with malignancies.
3.  Review the RETRO study (St. Lezin, E et al. Transfusion 2019;59:1934-1943).
4.  Discuss the direction of future research in outpatient transfusions.

The series, organized by Canadian Blood Services is also open to all practitioners in the field of Transfusion Medicine. Through a series of regular webinars, trainees and practitioners are exposed to various scientific, technical and clinical aspects of transfusion medicine.
