Starting in November 2019, the NHLAAC committee conducted its first ABHI accredited Journal Club presentation with the goal of providing a venue for Canadian HLA professionals to continue their education, knowledge sharing, and receive ABHI CE credits.

Project Policies

The Canadian Transplant Registry (CTR) identifies transplant opportunities across Canada for heart transplant candidates who are highly sensitized to Human Lymphocyte Antigens (HLA) and/or designated as medically urgent (i.e., designated as medical status 4).

Although these policies have been approved they are not considered active until implemented through the CTR IPOS Heart Project.

En situation d’urgence, l’approche transfusionnelle varie considérablement selon le scénario clinique. L’évaluation, par le médecin-clinicien, de la vitesse du saignement, de la gravité du saignement (ou la quantité de sang perdu) et de la stabilité clinique du patient détermine la stratégie transfusionnelle à adopter.
