The Ontario Regional Blood Coordinating Network (ORBCoN) and Canadian Blood Services' 18th Annual Transfusion Medicine Educational Web Conference Symposium is taking place virtually on April 27, 2023. There will be two sessions; the first session begins at 9:00am ET and the content will be repeated in a second session beginning at 1:00pm ET. Attendees may choose to register for either the morning or the afternoon session.

The symposium will feature presentations from Dr. Michelle Zeller of McMaster University on pathogen-reduced platelets, Dr. Andrew Petrosoniak of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on fibrinogen replacement, and Dr. Kathryn Webert of Canadian Blood Services on solvent detergent plasma. See additional presentation details in the event poster and pamphlet:

Learning objectives

The main objective of the Transfusion Medicine Education Symposium event is to provide health care professionals in Ontario with up-to-date information on best practices in transfusion medicine, and improve outcomes in patients requiring transfusion.
